SOUTH DAKOTA FARM AUCTION POSTER

Original poster, 10 1/2" x 18", of farm auction "nine miles south-west of Dodge, North Dakota ... (on the odl Anton Schumacher farm) or three-quarter miles west of St. Martin's Church on THURS. SEPT 18." Five head of cattle to be sold plus at least fourteen pieces of machinery and household good. The structures to be sold were a "Good Frame House 24 x 28," a "Frame Granary 28 x 30, a Barn 26 x 32, a Garage 12 x 24, and a Chicken House 14-x 20. A the equipment for sale dates from around 1925, and from the paper and appearance of the poster, we believe this auction took place no later than 1950. The auctioneer is likely the same person as noted in FamilySearch 1894-1981 who lived almost all of his life in North Dakota. The poster is very good and has a small chip on each bottom corner. I have not removed the poster from the plastic sleeve I purchased it in. I will assume it is somewhat fragile. Non-media shipping extra.
