Yakima: Franklin Press, 1966. First Edition. Soft cover. Very Good. Item #SHEL2127

A RARE SIGNED COPY of the true first edition of Roger Patterson's book. Pictorial wraps. 169pp. Illustrated with maps and drawings by the author & others, & several photos. Signed only, no inscription or presentation on the title page. A former Yakima owner's name and address is written inside the front cover. The Patterson book is a seminal book, the first published book entirely devoted to Bigfoot or sasquatch in North America. Your bookseller is the author of the only bibliography of Patterson's book. The title being, Roger Patterson's Snowman Book, now in a greatly expanded Second Edition. The publication of Patterson's book was a watershed publication which ushered in the era of modern research on the subject/creature/primate. It predated the Patterson-Gimlin film, which is again in the center of intense controversy because of the new documentary. This copy is in exceptional condition with light wear. I conservatively give it a traditional grading of "very good," but I use the world, "exceptional," because many, if not most copies printed by the press appear in worn condition, some very much so. These books were read to death. This copy includes the Abominable Snowman Club membership application & other information on the back leaf. I have traded and collected Patterson's book for many years and have unsigned copies available upon request in various editions/printings. But signed copies come on the market very seldom and are most coveted. Bibliographically identified by the bibliography cited above, this is BAADE COPY 1.
