Byrne is one of the original Bigfoot/Sasquatch researchers, coming from a big game hunting background in Africa and Asia. He has been involved in wildlife habitat protection in Asia in the last few years. Byrne began his Bigfoot research under the support of the famous Texas millionaire, Tom Slick. This book is in two basic parts. First and last sections are new material as Byrne looks back in his formative research years, and also cites historical evidence of the creature. This occupies the first section of the book. The last section print Byrne's opinions on various things like intelligence, habitat, population, etc. His views are quite conservative and often skeptical in nature, while at the same time he professes his conviction for the existence, past and maybe present, of Bigfoot. The middle section is a reprint of the author's 1975 book, The Search for Sasquatch, minus the Appendices of the original edition. Your bookseller noticed that at least some early material in the book has been amplified and revised from the 1975 edition, specifically the time he came out of Nepal on the Yeti search and what he did before arriving in the Pacific Northwest. I recommend this book as an important contribution to the genre, if not groundbreaking from a 2015 perspective. Unfortunately, the Table of Contents page has no pages associated with chapter titles, and a couple of chapters were inserted in the text that are not on the contents page. The reader will pencil in, if he or she wishes, page numbers for the Contents page. Fine, like new.
