Original, legal size hand-written letter of excommunication of Munson Winchell from the congregation, and read at the congregation Sept. 21, 1845. Specific reason for excommunication not stated, but church council cited Ephesians 5:5 & I Cor. 5:11 with several types of immorality. Letter states how the congregation sought to restore the member. Written in ink in a fine hand, lines evenly spaced -- first side completely written and backside three-quarters written plus titles. Folded twice. Paper in near fine condition with couple of small circular spots (transparent). Vg.
