1st printing of this edition. Colorful folio stapled wraps, 13" x 20". 20pp. Each map is pleasingly illustrated by vignette drawings of various wildlife species in different parts of the state. Thus on a given page's map you will find pheasant, raccoon, bunny rabbits, coyotes, wolves, or fox, grouse, squirrels, white-tailed deer, bobcat, black bear, and various fishes in the adjacent Great Lakes. The front cover is yellow, orange, red, blue, and green & is illustrated with a fisherman & a hunter. In the middle is an arrowhead emblem with a Native American in it painting pictographs on a cliff side. Inside front cover: photos. First page is list of Michigan State Parks along with details such as Post Office, Water Frontage, Dominant Features of Uses, Woods, acreage, etc. Other info is on this page including list of State Fish Hatcheries & Trout Rearing Stations. The next two facing pages present a full map of the state and a mileage table as well as index. Each succeeding page of maps have blocks of map information, each one nicely illustrated in a similar manner as the vignettes on the maps. Last four pages is an extensive list of Michigan lakes (3pp.) and Michigan streams (1p.). The color back cover displays all of the fishes, birds, and mammals featured on the maps. Main advertising on the covers is of Mercury Outboard Motors & Gil Schaefer, the distributor. The lower back cover has a triangular crease about 3" in. There is some brief staining to upper right edge of the front cover. Just a touch of stain on some edges inside. The back cover also has a short edge tear & light soiling. We consider this copy in very good condition. There is no writing and no marks of ownership on this copy. Very, very scarce.
