Yokohama: Yoshikawa, 1936. First Edition. Soft cover. Near Fine. Item #5034033

Apparent 1st edition. Gold silk over paper wraps, with applied title label & bound with small cord. 203pp. Illus. There is an affixed postage stamp sized "stamp" on the back page & the page is titled, "Printed in Japan." The subtitle continues, "... of many of the customs, festivals, arts and crafts of the Japanese -- also descriptions of the principal places usually visited by tourists, besides places away from well-trodden trails, and numerous other subjects." "200 pages, 345 illustrations some in color." The book is near fine with just a small red smudge on the back cover. The book is encased in a decorated/pictorial cloth over boards three part folder, which is latched together with two small "pins" which fit into a small cord. The folder also has a decorated title label attached. This is quite a lovely book and case. Scarce, especially in the case.
