ONE SKY TO SHARE: The French and American Journals of R. L. Bruckberger (Signed)

NY: P. J. Kenedy & Sons, 1952. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good / Good. Item #5033015

We believe this to be a first printing of the first edition although the info on Kenedy & Sons publishers is spare. No additional printing are given. Dj price is $3.00. Drawings by Jo Spier. Signed on the half-title by both Bruckberger & the translator, Dorothy Carr Howell. We grade this copy vg, but note that on the bottom of the front cover there is a white paint mark 1" long & 1/8" wide. The dj has a chip on the back pane & an even 1/4" chip" on bottom of backstrip,l & has some edgewear & is soiled but I believe it should still be graded good. Wiki says this: Raymond Léopold Bruckberger (10 April 1907, in Murat - 4 January 1998, in Fribourg), was a French Dominican priest, Résistance member, writer, translator, screenwriter and director of Austrian heritage. He was elected member of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques in 1985. The NY Times ran an obituary on him identifying him as the chaplain general of the French Resistance. Upon the liberation of Franc, he welcomed Charles de Gaulle to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Signed, especially double signed, most difficult to come by.
