Silver gelatin print of fly fisherman at edge of water practicing his casting. Likely late 19th C or early 20th C; also possibly Ontario, Canada, as that is where I acquired this photo. Mat size 6 7/8" x 8 7/8". Image size 3 1/8" x 5 1/8". A few tiny dark spots left side of photo, only seen against the light. Lower bottom of mat from the left has a wedge of fading running triangularly downward toward the middle. The fisherman is in very sharp focus and the landscape background not in focus. I'm not a photography historian, but to me it might fit into the period of Pictorialism. A nice catch if you are a fly-fisherman with interest in an earlier period.
