Original booklet. 4to comb bound wrappers. 13pp title page through text pages. Reproduction of topographical map of "HOPE YALE DISTRICT BRITISH COLUMBIA WEST OF SIXTH MERIDIAN." Text pages include Tables. The firm of P. S. Ross and Partners "was retained by the Indian Affairs Department to undertake a land-use study for the Hope Indian Reserve, on behalf of that Indian Band." This represents that study. Gives summary of proposed construction costs, and there is even a table presenting "Distribution of Single Room Rates, Summer Season" PLUS "Summary of Results of A Hotel/Motel Survery, Hope Area 1969." It gives such data as no. of establishments (27), no. of rooms (438, room rates for single occupancy ($8.44) and double ($9.73). In 1968, your bookseller and his bride, just married in Michigan, went to live in Vancouver for a year. Our last night before arrival was spent just up the river from Hope, in Boston Bar, in a $6.00 cabin! A very scarce and apparently rare economic window into a business proposal for a First Nations tribe. Very interesting. Very good condition but one leaf with creases. NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE HOPI NATION!
