PIONEER DAYS IN ARIZONA (signed)

NY: MacMillan, 1932. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible Near Fine / Very Good. Item #2111054

1st edition. Orange cloth with black stamping. 387pp. Illus. Index. Presentation copy on ffep but recipient not named. "Your sincere friend / Frank C. Lockwood / Tucson, Arizona / Oct 12, 1932." This one of the best books on Arizona pioneering history. A former owner marked out his or her name at the top of the ffep. This copy came from the estate of George Westinghouse, Jr. With the exception of the name marked out & a tiny pin prick hole at one location on the front joint, this is a fine copy. The front dj flap is clipped at the top & bottom corners, but the price was not affected. The dj is moderately soiled on the back panel but is vg with no chips. There is a shadow on the free endpapers where the flaps did not cover the paper. This is an uncut copy so some pages are joined at the fore edge and will have to be carefully opened with an appropriate knife-edged tool. Note: the dark shadow on the lower dj cover is merely a reflection of the plastic protective cover; the dj does not have this dark area. This this copy is considered "unread." Very scarce, and especially so in this condition. "Contains considerable material on Arizona outlaws." -- Adams Six-guns 1351.

Price: $246.50
