Original typed & signed letter on Schroeder Hotels letterhead. 6" x 7". On Oct. 25, 1926, Edwin B______ sent notice to L. E. Tone Garage in Wausau that "I since in your employ have been dishonest and estimate the amount I have taken from cash sales to be $50.00... I am very sorry of my wrong acts and if given a chance to make amends I promise to never be guilty of the same again.." Signed by the sender & two witnesses. A remarkable example of contrition "made of my own free will without promise or threat." Vg. Unusual ephemera.
