Not a book. Five original lumber mill cabinet photos, slightly sepia. 1905-06. Each 6 1/2" x 8 5/8" & on original mats. Ink/pencil info written on back of each mat. Photo #1: (sawmill with men lined up in front of it) "Picture taken 1906 Pelican River Sawmill on Pelican River approx 2 - 2 1/2 miles East or South of Rhinelander Wisconsin" Fine. Photo #2: (another sawmill with men lined up close range) 11 of 13 men named on back & "This picture taken about - 1906 at Monico Jct Wisconsin". Lower left margin stained, just into photo. Photo #3: (Monico sawmill with group of men standing/sitting close to camera) "Taken about 1905 at Monico Jct Wisconsin" & names of 16 men/boys & 4 unknowns. Great close-up group! Fine. Photo #4: (sawmill burned to ground; 3 men standing in ruins) "After Pelican River Mill fire July 1906". Fine. Photo #5: duplicate of #4: on back is written: "John J. Suche Jr". Fine. This set at one time must have belonged to a family who likely moved to the forests of the Pac NW. A rare set, especially so with locations & people identified.
