TULALIP RESERVATION GOODWILL POWWOW 1990

n.p. n.p., 1990. Soft cover. Fine. Item #1204105

Not a book. 18 original glossy b/w photos taken by an unknown photographer at the 1990 Tulalip Goodwill Powwow which took place on the reservation near Marysville, Washington, July 22-24. As reported on newswire, "Indians from throughout North America will join indigenous people from the Soviet Union and Central America for three days of traditional dancing, canoe races, salmon bakes and more at the 1990 Goodwill Pow Wow and Cultural Exchange, (the) Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission said today." This was held in conjunction with the 1990 Goodwill Games. 2 photos are approx 4 x 6. 1 photo 6 1/2 x 9. 2 photos are 7 1/2 x 9 1/4. 12 photos are approx 8 x 10. There are 3 duplicates, therefore 14 different images. 3 images are on a photo board backing. The photographer, who does not identify himself, on a typed, 12 line note that comes with the photos, talks about how he came to be invited, identifies two whites who were also part of the powwow, & gives some other material details. Almost all of these photos are full ceremonial dress dance photos, most very well composed, & represents various levels of the dramatic. All photos in fine condition with technical info penciled on the back. A few interior photos; most outside. Very likely a unique collection.

Price: $205.60
