HUBERT'S MUSEUM WORK 1958 - 1963

New York: Phillips de Pury & Company, 2008. First Edition. Soft cover. Very Good+. Item #1003004

Pictorial quarto in glossy stiff wraps. Unpag. (68pp.). Illustrated in b/w & sepia (and one color, not by Arbus). Auction catalogue of a group of Arbus photographs previously unknown until discovered & acquired by bookman Robert Langmuir. The photos were taken by Arbus in Hubert's Dime Museum on W. 42nd St., just off Times Square. The auction of these works was slated for 4/8/08, but was canceled shortly before the auction date. This catalogue then became unavailable, & copies are hard to come by. The story of the photos & the finding of them is given in Gregory Gibson's fine book, Hubert's Freaks. Vg with minor front cover corner crease & a bit of rubbing on same. Bid form for the auction is laid in.

Price: $225.75
