DO ABOMINABLE SNOWMEN OF AMERICA REALLY EXIST
Yakima: Franklin Press, 1966. Soft cover. Collectible Good. Item #SHEL1612
Stated "First Edition" but bibliographically speaking, BAADE COPY 3 according to Eugene Baade, ROGER PATTERSON'S SNOWMAN BOOK, indicating this printing was published by Franklin soon after the 1966 first issue, probably in 1967. Pictorial wraps. 169pp. Illustrated with maps and drawings by the author & others, & several photos. The Patterson book is a seminal book, the first published book entirely devoted to Bigfoot or sasquatch in North America. Ivan Sanderson's 1961 book predates it & includes N. A. material, but was global in scope. The publication of Patterson's book was a watershed publication which helped usher in the era of modern research on the subject/creature/primate. This issue printed and distributed in the year of the Patterson-Gimlin film. This is a good copy with moderate wear, but we do note the removal of probably a price sticker on the lower area of the front cover - show shown by our photo. This copy has a small label inside the front cover that has a stamp that reads, "VOLUME NUMBER 964." Looking at expensive copies we now see on Ebay, this is better copy at a reasonable price.
