Because of the fresh scientific analysis Meldrum put into this book, much material publicized for the first time, I consider this book a watershed book on the subject. This copy fine in fine dj, but we note a small black spot on the bottom edge, probably indicating that the copy was once "remaindered." I'm going to still grade this copy as "fine" because of the otherwise all-over condition, but I understand that someone would argue about the spot! Strangely, this first hardcover edition and printing is no longer common.
