Yakima: Franklin Press, 1966. First Edition Later Printing. Soft cover. Collectible Very Good. Item #SHEL1420
Pictorial wraps. Stated First Edition but later issue. 169pp. Illustrated with maps and drawings by the author & others, & several photos. At the top of the title page is the former owners' signature and date, "69" in Portland, Oregon. The Patterson book is a seminal book, the first published book entirely devoted to Bigfoot or sasquatch in North America. Ivan Sanderson's 1961 book predates it & includes N. A. material, but was global in scope. The publication of Patterson's book was a watershed publication which helped usher in the era of modern research on the subject/creature/primate. The first edition predated the Patterson-Gimlin film footage by a year. This is the a stated First Edition but is COPY #3 in the fine recent bibliography of the Patterson book titled, Roger Patterson's Snowman Book, written by Gene W. Baade. This is a very good copy, bright and with minor wear and is priced higher because of the real nice condition; most copies that appear for sale are creased and worn. All editions/prints except Hancock House editions are now quite scarce. The default photo of the cover shown on the Internet web page may not be this copy. It may be of the most recent, 2018 edition.
