Thick 4to (about 6 3/4" x 8") in original vellum binding with modern endpapers. This is volume II, which contained parts 2 & 3 of a 3 part work. Part 1: 1,124pp including Appendix. Part 3: 920pp + two indices. Library stamp on front title page. An ink signature, probably from time of printing, also on t-p. John Gerhard was one of the great Lutheran dogmaticians. Title page chipped at top corner & with minor loss of paper on leading edge. Previous owner's name label on front paste down. Vg condition. Rare.
