Photograph # 1: Circa 1910. Original b/w photograph on original black mat. Photo is oval, size 1 3/4" x 3". Mat: 5" x 8 1/2". Portrait, shoulders up, of a beautiful young woman formally dressed in a white blouse. On the back, written in pencil, is the following: "Early pic of (Grandmother Ki - "Ya") July 14, 1956 Buried at Sauk". Interested party may explore the Sauk - Suiattle web page for information on this first nations community located north of Seattle. The mat has a couple of tiny nicks on the top & the back has a very slight crack, not noticeable on the front. Very good. Photograph #2: Along with this formal portrait is a small image of the same woman in her late years. It is a slightly sepia, 2" x 3" photo of her standing against a backdrop of timber. On the back of this photo is written: "Ki - Ya (Grandmother) July 14, 1956 Buried at Sauk". This photo was & remains inside the same size envelope with the penciled words, "Private" & "Picture" on one side. However, on the flap in pencil is written, "93 years Ki - Ya". Fine photo.
