Keep in mind that in 1881 what was "northern" Wisconsin comprised most of the state: 41 counties. A county by county treatment with much on early settlers, businesses, churches, agriculture, logging, railroads. About 30pp of general history starting with mound builders, French exploration, first missions, fur trade, English supremacy, territorial period, etc. One leaf near the back has margin loss from chips, but other than a few short edge tears, the volume is in fine condition. Rare.
