1st printing. Decorated wraps. 30pp. Frontispiece portrait in color of Sitting Bull. Presentation on ffep from Burdick to Indian & regional history historian Alexis A. Praus. Praus wrote at least two books on the Sioux, including a bio of Sitting Bull. Burdick was a North Dakota legislator. The Intro states that Burdick examined papers containing these three chapters several years following McLaughlin's death. "There is no question but what these chapters throw additional light on the many stirring events relating to the Sioux Trouble on Grand River in 1890, ..." Chapters: "Sitting Bull's Death Aftermath", "How Hawkman Rode To His Death", "Shave Heads Code of Honor." Vg condition with 1 1/2" tear at bottom of front cover closed. Light stain in center of title page; noticeable but does not keep this copy from being a collector's copy unless perfection is required. Very scarce.
