THE HUTTERIAN BRETHREN OF MONTANA

(Augusta, MT): Privately Printed, 1963. First Edition. Soft cover. Fine. Item #1003094

Printed wraps. 41pp. "Foreword". "Basis of the Hutterite Belief". "What the Church of Christ Is and How One May Join It". "World Concept in Respect to Human Rights." Several other sections having to do with Hutterite beliefs & practices. Booklet was printed "by the Hutterian Brethren of Montana in an attempt to dispel popular misconceptions..." "The natural growth and development of these colonies is threatened at this time by some of the public in Montana, who submitted a resolution to the 1963 Montana legislature, requesting the limiting of Hutterite land purchases." Ink stamp of Rev. Joseph J. Kleinsasser, Milford Colony, Augusta, Montana, inside front cover, with the handwritten comment, "Please let me hear from you." An internet search reveals that Kleinsasser in 1982 went to court for himself & on behalf of his deceased wife, suing the U.S. concerning a tax-refund claim. It went all the way to the 9th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals. Very slight fading. Fine copy. Very scarce.
